The material and learning ideas in here are designed to help young people understand what mental health is, how and why it can be affected, how to recognise and deal with emotions, coping skills, mindfulness, and support mechanisms.
The resources in this pack sits within the Health and Wellbeing area of the Curriculum of Excellence. The particular aspect of learning in Health and Wellbeing to which this pack contributes to Mental, emotional and social wellbeing.
Experiences and Outcomes
Curriculum for Excellence has an important role to play in promoting the health and wellbeing of children and young people and of all those in the educational communities to which they belong. “Learning in health and wellbeing ensures that children and young people develop the knowledge and understanding, skills, capabilities and attributes which they will need for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing now and in the future. “Curriculum for Excellence; Health and wellbeing: principles and practice".
Information
Hi Paul, I'd like to split this section into a box like you have done with the others but not sure how to do it. I want to give some information on who can use this resource and how we have combined the resources we have for others to use but i'm not completely sure how to work it. Below is what I'm trying to say:
Promoting mental health is an fundamental part of the work we do and through staff training and research we have collated a range of tools and resources. We use these in our sessions to help young people develop a better understanding about mental health. We have collated the resources and information and put them in this portal so that they can be used by young people themselves or anyone working with young people. Each section provides an overview and some useful resources such as worksheets, quizzes, activities and helpsheets.
