Shettleston
Shettleston New Parish Church: Under ‘normal’ circumstances would run 2 Parent & toddler groups on Thursday am & pm as well as a café on Wed lunchtime and Fri mornings to help people connect.
Tollcross
Hayfield Support Services enhances the lives of Deaf people with additional care needs by providing a highly person centred approach, seeking out the person’s individual choices and preferences and assisting them to plan their desired outcomes.
Parkhead
ReConnect: Low-cost furniture & recycling shop to allow families to access good condition second-hand goods at a fraction of the new retail cost. Also provide employment, training & volunteer opportunities.
Glasgow North East Foodbank: Operate on a voucher system to which families can be referred on via local agencies such a housing association / Tollcross learning and advice centre etc. Also have current pandemic programme with The Celtic Foundation to support families who have lost their jobs / have had hours cut / or are on furlough to access food parcels which are delivered via taxi.
The Pantry: Supports families in disadvantaged communities. £2.50 membership allows for £15 worth of food including fresh produce and tins. Local Pantry stores in Parkhead, Tollcross Shettleston.
Barrachnie
Community of Helping Hands: Community Food Store – works on trust – no referral or criteria needed. £3 suggested donation but this is not required and you won’t be asked for it or asked why you cant make the donation. No limit of fruit & veg but max limit on other produce. Aiming for charity status and adding in Health & wellbeing to their services. Have applied for funding for complimentary therapies for lone parents. Open Mon-Fri 10am-2pm
Easterhouse
East End Flat Pack Meals: Based in Easthall’s Glenburn Centre. Provide meals in a bag for £3 which feeds a family of 4, Soups £1.50 and feed family of 4 – all veg based. Open to anyone. Delivery is not usually an option but would be considered if a family needed the meals and faced barriers picking them up or if large order was made (for community centre for example)
Connect Community Trust: Youth clubs, Job club, welfare advice. Local community support and inclusion programmes. CCT owns / runs ReConnect and Hub Sports - the facility that they are based in which is also a hireable sports / community hall.
